With more and more people looking for ways to be more sustainable, here are some gift suggestions to help your commitment.
Give something you own. I cleaned out my storage closet a few months ago and I put together a couple of bin of items I never used that would make great gifts.
Repurpose and gift. If you're crafty or handy, make something old new again, or repurpose it and gift it. A personalized gift is priceless!
Regift. I can see through this article that you're outraged and shocked. STOP IT! Why not?! You received a gift that still has tags on it, it's still in the box or bag they gave it to you in, and you're obviously not going to use it. The key is to #1 it's usable and you really do feel the recipient would like it, #2 remember who gave it to you so you don't give it to them or their relations, and #3 the reciever is outside that circle. VOILA! Now you have also decluttered... just sayin'.
Give an e-gift card. No waste with paper or plastic, and recipient can use it for what they REALLY want or need.
Other sustainable gift Ideas:
A lunch kit. The Bentgo has become THE lunch container you should have whether you're an adult or a child.
Compost bin. There are many choices out there from kitchen countertop size to larger ones for your garden. Here is one that works well for any household.
Candles. Made of soy and essential oils are the ones you want and I know a great place - Nirvana Living! They have candles, wax melts, diffusers, and accessories for all your items.
Experiences. Tickets to the movies, museum, or a Broadway play; pay for a class you know they're interested in; or an immersive experience.
