New Checklist for the New Year

It's that time again..... Here is a checklist to get you started for the next couple of months. More checklists to come!

January: Ahhh January! The month we all view as the beginning of all things we want to do, we didn't do, but promised to do, and tend to drop before Valentine's Day, LOL!

  • Store the Holiday decorations.

  • Set goals for 2021: personal, financial, and organizing (wink).

  • Refresh or makeover the kitchen and pantry.

  • Deep clean, and disinfect, all areas of your home. FYI: You don't have to do it all in one day.

  • Organize all paperwork. With tax season coming up soon, it's a good time to gather everything you need now so you're not scrambling later.

  • Inspections: windows, pipes & heating systems, anything with a filter, pest, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and fire extinguishers.

  • Refresh any area of the home that has had a lot of use, or has become a dumping ground: entry, craft area, coat closet, storage closet, etc.

Here is one more I am adding, not only because I have one, but with the year we just had, and will continue to have in 2021, it is a necessity:

  • Create a wellness space: exercise, meditation, music, and even reading. Create a space for whatever it is that helps you relax, reflect, and appreciate needs a space you can go to.

February: Winter really kicks in this month. Let's prepare!

  • Clean and then disinfect your home.

  • Clear out any clutter from every space in your home.

  • You did inspections last month (right?). Revisit the windows and make sure it is sealed and doesn't allow cold air in. Clean the windows so you can let the heat of the sunlight into your home; it will allow for more natural heat in your home which can decrease your heat bill.

  • Inspect humid places like the bathroom for any possible mold. Since we do not open windows during the winter months, mold can grow.

January is the month the majority of people starts their new diet, new goals, new lifestyles, new ideas, new new... I would like everyone to ask themselves, "Where do I need help in decluttering, organizing, and time managing and productivity?" Then let me know here so I could share tips on the next post.
